With Thanksgiving only a few days away, turkeys are getting ready for dinner tables in the US. However, one lucky bird — Peas — took the “gravy train to freedom” after being granted the official presidential pardon by President Donald Trump on Tuesday. “That turkey is so lucky. I’ve never seen such a beautiful turkey,” Trump said of Peas, who ruffled its feathers in front of a crowd of onlookers in the Rose Garden. Trump announced that Peas won the vote by a “fair and open election” — no fowl play involved, and teased that contestant Carrots refused to concede and demanded a recount, although that didn’t change the outcome. 📸Manuel Balce Ceneta/AP Photo, Carolyn Kaster/AP Photo, Andrew Harnik/AP Photo #thanksgiving #whitehouse #TurkeyPardon #Turkey #PresidentTrump #Trump #WashingtonDC #Washington #DC #cnn #cnnpolitics #news
