The Mirage hotel and casino will close on July 17, leaving many of us locals and visitors feeling nostalgic. Before it shuts its doors, The Mirage must distribute $1.6 million in progressive slot and table game winnings to comply with Nevada gaming regulations. Nevada gaming laws mandate that the progressive jackpot money, mainly composed of gamblers’ losses, be returned to players. As Hard Rock has no other affiliated casinos in Nevada, this distribution is required before The Mirage closes. The Mirage will host a final promotion, the Mirage Progressive Finale Cash Giveaway, from July 9-13 and on July 16. The progressive slot promotion will offer $200,000 in guaranteed winnings on July 9-11, increasing to $250,000 on July 12-13, and $100,000 on July 16.
