A Nevada prison lieutenant, referred here as “officer” to protect his privacy, is facing serious allegations for allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior with an inmate at the Florence McClure Women’s Correctional Center in Las Vegas.
According to state investigators, officer kissed an inmate on the cheek and lips and sent her letters under a fake name while on duty.
Police documents reveal that officer accessed nearly 90 phone calls made by the inmate, which was described as “very time consuming.”
The inmate reported that officer regularly pulled her out of her unit to speak privately, including once in a physician’s exam room where a surveillance camera captured them walking in together.
The officer admitted to writing the letters, taking the inmate aside to discuss “personal matters,” and even attempting to give her mother money for the inmate’s bank account.
A preliminary hearing is set for August 28.
