Summerlin has been getting hit by a newer crime trend. Suspects have been pretending to be with your banks. They'll say there's suspicious activity on your account and will even text you a verification code to seem more official. They'll then send a "representative" to pick up the credit card for "destruction" but instead will use your card around town until it is cancelled. What can we do? Don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. Call your bank directly. Do not use any numbers provided by the caller. If you're uncertain, you can always freeze your card in the meantime. No bank will send a representative to collect your card for "destruction". If you're ever feeling rushed on the phone, there's a good chance it's a scam.
