In February, a camera at the intersection of Green Valley Pkwy and 215 in Henderson recorded 14,000 red light violations, highlighting a significant traffic safety issue. The issue is so severe that even Google Maps Street View has captured multiple people running red lights at this intersection (as shown in the main photo.) Despite this, Metro cannot cite drivers due to Nevada's ban on red light cameras for enforcement unless an officer witnesses the violation. This problem contributes to a 51% increase in crash fatalities in Clark County this year. While the data from these cameras helps law enforcement target high-risk areas with patrols, any legislative changes to allow camera enforcement won't be possible until the 2025 session. Local authorities stress the importance of voter participation in changing these laws. #realvegaslocals #lasvegas #lasvegasstrip #lasvegasblvd #vegas #vegaslocals #vegaslife #lasvegaslocals #lasvegaslocal #vegasborn #summerlin #henderson #hendersonnv...
