The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 Paris-Dakar (953) rallied so that the 959 could conquer.
Weighing little over 1,200 kg, flaunting 225 PS and holding a beastly 6-cylinder engine, the 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 (953) highlighted that Porsche was capable of crafting far more than just sprightly road racecars.
Although it only participated in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, this off-road, four-wheel drive brute tamed the world’s most arduous race in style. After skillfully traversing the punishing approx. 11,000-kilometre route, the car claimed an historic first Porsche Dakar win, also the first sportscar to ever win the Rally.
The 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 (953)’s appearance marked a watershed moment in our legacy, proving that the 911’s familiar silhouette can thrive in even the most unlikely of places.
