This region of France is perhaps best known for the lavender, sunflower, and wheat fields that bloom here every summer— they are truly a sight to behold ! The exact timing varies every year but from around the last week of June to the middle of August you will definitely have the chance to see the lavender. 2. There are many lavender fields in the region including in Pays de Sault, Luberon, Drôme Provençale, and Manosque. However, many people say that the Valensole Plateau (where I’m at in the video) is the absolute best spot. 3. To get here from abroad it’s easiest to fly into the neighboring city of Marseille then rent a car to make the 60 min drive to where the fields start. However, it’s also possible to take a train from Marseille-St. Charles station to Manosque (a 90 min train ride), then get around with a driver, which is what we ended up doing. Beware, these t...
