Congratulations to Ryder Robinson (TCU) from American Fork HS in Utah being named the Gatorade State Player of the Year. ⁠ ⁠ The 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior shortstop batted .466 with eight home runs and 27 RBI this past season, leading the Cavemen (20-13) to a Class 6A state championship. ⁠ ⁠ Robinson was the state leader in runs scored (50), drew 27 walks and struck out just three times in 130 plate appearances. ⁠ ⁠ He also swiped 12 bases, posting an on-base percentage of .573 and a slugging percentage of .893.
