The AAPI community has faced a long history of discrimination and marginalization, and are often reduced to harmful stereotypes. It takes immense strength to rise above these stereotypes, to reclaim our narratives, and to amplify our voices in spaces that may not always welcome our perspectives. Speaking up means navigating through layers of complexity, and shattering monolithic narratives that overlook the rich diversity and contributions within our community. But through adversity, I find power in the unity and resilience that binds us together. I’m grateful for the friends I’ve made through the years who tirelessly advocate for justice- just to name a few here. Together, we have built a supportive network that celebrates our diversity, embraces our shared struggles, and uplifts one another like no other.
