The ad featured Acton's estranged mother, Donna Arthur, who called her daughter a liar and shouldn't be elected governor. Acton hasn't seen her mother since she was 12-years-old. Acton and her brother were removed from Arthur's care due to abuse and neglect. Arthur's husband and Acton's step-father was charged with sexually abusing her.
