🗞️ Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd visited USC Upstate on April 17 for the 10th annual Dr. John B. Edmunds, Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series. With sharp wit and candid reflections, Dowd shared stories from four decades in political journalism — from warm exchanges with George H.W. Bush to blunt moments with Barack Obama. She discussed the changing media landscape, the growing influence of tech moguls, and the press’s role in democracy: “We have to be working from the same set of facts — or how are we a country?” 📚 Her latest book, Notorious, explores culture, politics, and power.
