Today is Freshman Orientation for Fall 2019 (#uscupstatebound). We will welcome about 1,000 new students this upcoming semester. Among them is Samantha Roberts, 18, who is entering as a sophomore because she earned college credit while in high school. She and her mom, Tammy, visited with us today. Samantha, a dual major in Education and Family and Childcare Studies, was valedictorian of her class at Lancaster High School. She was accepted to more than 13 schools. But she chose #uscupstate. Here's why: "I was (deciding) between this school and another. I was really just trying to figure out what was right for me. And I had a big offer from the other school. But every time I made a pros and cons list, it always led me back to Upstate... I love it! I think it was the right choice." -Samantha Roberts, new student.
