Since October 2022, #Kenya 🇰🇪 has been facing a large #cholera outbreak, fuelled by a severe drought in the region. To stop its spread among vulnerable communities, WHO organized a cholera vaccination campaign in August 2023. Over 1800 dedicated vaccinators and 900 volunteers joined forces to reach nearly 1.7 million people across 8 sub-counties. Cholera vaccines are in short supply due to an upsurge in outbreaks globally. But vaccines aren’t the only tool available to fight cholera. Safe water and sanitation can prevent the disease from spreading, and simple and inexpensive treatment can stop people from dying. #HealthForAll #WHOimpact 📸 WHO / Billy Miaron
