Look at a typical photo of an immunization clinic and you will notice mothers in almost every single one. To reach as many children as possible, programmes must be deliberately designed to involve men as well as women, to help all parents and caregivers access immunization services. Both parents should feel responsible for their children’s health, and not reinforce existing gender roles.
