What's that over there? Oh, that's just a rapid-scan X-band polarimetric mobile radar, or RaXPol. Students in this fall's Radar Meteorology course, taught by @fsueoas' Chelsea Nam (pictured in photo one), got to officially deploy @uofoklahoma's RaXPol at @fsumarinelab! The mobile, truck-mounted radar is on a two-week journey in the field, where it will track weather data from the ground. The opportunity for students to assist in deployment planning as well as data collection and analysis is part of a newly awarded @nsfgov grant supporting atmospheric science research.
