Native Americans once spoke of giant bears chasing kids and upon prayer to "The Great Spirit" to save them, this Spirit is said to have made this iconic rock rise from the ground, towards the heavens saving their lives as the bears clawed at the mammoth rock until they had realized they had been beaten. The many stories of this mysterious rock are left behind, but to this day it stands tall under the incredible night skies of Wyoming. I get to share a story of my own, as my camera sat outside and captured the falling Geminds, no one in site and not a single car to be heard we leaned up and noticed a suspicious glow on the horizon. I guess "The Great Spirit" enjoyed our company because we watched in awe as the Northern Lights made a brief appearance over Devils Tower as Geminds rained from the heavens.
