X marks the.....STEVE? Yes, I'm still going through images from last week because it was just beyond insane. After an hour of epic pillars, STEVE arrived overhead and for a brief time shared the night sky with our Milly Way Galaxy. STEVE in general is a rare phenomenon and is a Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement and isn't an aurora but a "skyglow" created by heated and shining particles in the ionosphere but, add the green picket fence too it and its double the rare and double the site! . . #auroraborealis #northernlights #northdakota #northdakotaphotography #northdakotalegendary #northdakotalife #northdakota_lovers #milkyway #milkywaychasers #milkywayphotography #longexposureshots #longexposure #longexpoelite #spaceweather #space #steve #stars #earthfocus #earth #earthpix #earthlove #natgeophotography #natgeowild #natgeo
