Coffee farmers in Vietnam use water for irrigation of trees during the dry period. This result is an overexploitation of local groundwater aquifers which also may affects availability of water for other users in the same catchments. Our project (“Vietnam to produce more coffee with less water”) does not only help farmers to reduce the amount of water used to irrigate coffee trees but also tries to investigate possibility to recharge aquifers during heavy rainfall periods.
