* The More You Know 🌈 ... w/ johnwgeorge ♥️ Did you know that Lye relaxers don’t leave a calcium build up on the hair, and allow your hair to receive moisture easier than a no-lye relaxer. But with that comes a yellow discoloration of the hair. There are shampoos that you can use to eliminate this discoloration. But they are just surface products. And because the porosity of relaxed hair is usually very high. And the cuticle in this situation, is expanded. The hair has a tendency to grab those surface colors and hold them. Leaving the hair with a lavender cast. My approach is matrix Tonal Control, 11PV. After rinsing the relaxer thoroughly. I use my toner and work through section by section. Applying generously and distributing liberally. I processed for 10 min. Now, the PH of a lye relaxer is 13 (Alkaline ). And because Tonal Control is an Acidic Gel-Cream Toner.
