Last week, we were in Denver, Colorado putting art installations up all across the city to highlight that police violence is gun violence. March For Our Lives has made a commitment to understand that we must defund and divest from the police, and instead invest into communities. Because the most safe neighborhoods don’t have police, they have more resources. And the fact that police have terrorized the lives of Black and brown people, all over the summer we’ve seen that our lives must be fought for. So, we’re committing to understand what it means to be safe, and Black, and brown in America. We continue to advance our mission forward, that ending gun violence is also to understand that we must end police violence. We have the ability, we have the voice, and we have the power, so let’s do the work. — Accessibility Note: Caption before this note serves as transcript for video in slide 1.
