Today, we wrap up our three-day celebration of an incredible trio of #Porsche engineering and performance with the 917, 918 and 919. It’s September 19th and we’re giving a nod to a true trailblazer of its time, the 919 Hybrid. In 2011, Porsche announced its return to the World Endurance Championship at the Geneva Motor Show. The #919Hybrid featured an innovative drivetrain concept consisting of a compact two-litre V4 turbocharged engine, an electric motor powering the front wheels and two different energy recovery systems - brake energy from the front axle and exhaust energy. Said to be the most complex racecar in the history of Porsche, the 919 Hybrid is a true pioneer of e-performance.
