Theodore “the Unabomber” Kaczynski, the infamous former UC Berkeley associate professor turned serial killer, died in federal prison at the age of 81 on Saturday. The nickname “UNABOMB” originates from UNiversity and Airline BOMBing targets, which were Kaczynski’s primary victims. During his killing spree, he attacked leaders in the technology industry, promoting his radical anti-modern and pro-nature beliefs. His trademark included handmade bomb packages, which he mailed or placed for his victims to open. During his time on campus, Kaczynski left two such packages on campus.
