I’ve always held the mindset that my husband was supposed to smile and tell everyone “happy wife, happy life.” That literally never happened! It was quite the opposite. Dominique would tell me that he wasn’t going to be some yes man in this marriage and he was going to tell me how he feels about pretty much everything. Over time I learned to hold a great amount of respect to be married to a man who provides me with honesty and doesn’t look over the problems in our marriage or within me. But instead he loves me despite them, while still addressing them. I used to beg and pray and plead for him to love me like Jesus wondering why he wouldn’t?! And then one day I realized, that’s exactly what he’s doing!!! He’s loving me, being honest with, giving me a ridiculous amount of grace for the things I do, apologize for, (and then do again 🤦🏼‍♀️).
