Meet Maness Mwale, one of The Sonder Project's sponsored students at Chitenge Secondary School in the Kasungu district of Malawi.
Maness is now a bubbly 17 year old on a path to completing her third year of high school. But her prospects before being sponsored were entirely uncertain.
Maness remembers showing up embarrassed to her first day of her second year with no uniform and no books because her parents were still racing to earn enough money from 'piece-works' farming to pay her school fees.
Within a few weeks, Maness was sent away from school and forced to stay home and miss her lessons.
But her world after being sponsored is now completely transformed!
Maness' mother, Judith, is proud of the changes she's observed in her daughter and grateful for The Sonder Project's support.
Judith wishes that she too could have finished school beyond Grade 5, as she always dreamed of being a teacher. But she promises to do her part to keep Maness focused on her studies.
