#BlackHistoryMonth comes to an end tonight, but we promise to keep celebrating #CongressionalBlackHistory all year long! To close out the month, we want to acknowledge our newly elected @congressionalblackcaucus members. These may be freshman legislators, but many have made history just by being elected. Rep. Mondaire Jones and Rep. Ritchie Torres are the first openly gay Black men elected to the #House. Rep. Jamaal Bowman is the founder and former principal of a middle school. Rep. Cori Bush and Rep. Nikema Williams follow in the footsteps of former #CBC members, and are making history through activism in Congress. Rev. Raphael Warnock was the first Black man elected to the U.S. Senate from the state of Georgia. Rep. Marilyn Strickland is the first Black- and only the third Korean-American congresswoman elected in the #PNW.
