Earlier, we explained the data-driven approach we take with our student sponsorship program. Today we have some very interesting data to share with you! π
We conducted an analysis in Malawi comparing a cohort of our sponsored primary school students and a control group of non-sponsored students from the same background and same school. π
What we found is that our sponsorship program is associated with significantly lower rates of transfer, absence, and dropping out βοΈ Some key insights:

19% of the control group were absent for one semester, compared to only 1% of the Sonder sponsored group;
β
16% of students in the control group were reported to have transferred out of the school, compared to only 1% of the Sonder sponsored group;
β
4% of the control group dropped out of school, compared to 0% of the Sonder sponsored group.
