Starting June 26, Amtrak trains between Chicago and St. Louis will run at speeds of up to 110 miles per hour, making travel times shorter and more efficient. The new speeds will cut travel time to less than 2 hours from Chicago to Bloomington-Normal, less than 3 hours from Chicago to Springfield, and end-to-end St. Louis-Chicago schedules of under 5 hours.
