🏒TSU just announced that it is launching the FIRST EVER HBCU hockey team! In 2021, through a continued effort to grow hockey at the college level, the NHL and the NHLPA, in collaboration with Tennessee State University (TSU), the Nashville Predators and College Hockey Inc., funded a feasibility study through the NHL and NHLPA’s Industry Growth Fund. Armed with positive results from the feasibility study, all sides have continued to work towards making ice hockey at TSU a reality. Now, against the backdrop of the 2023 NHL Draft, Tennessee State University has announced that it will be starting a Club Hockey program.  Establishing a successful Club hockey program is a key step on the path to NCAA Division I hockey. 🙌🏾 This will make Tennessee State University the first HBCU to have an ice hockey program at any level.
