Our newest school block construction in Malawi has broken ground! 👏 The groundbreaking ceremony for our newest primary school in the community of Chiwinga was a vibrant one - filled with excitement for the future of education for the over 600 enrolled students! 📚 As is customary, all stakeholders get a chance to shovel some symbolic soil - including community members, local leaders, the village chief, and staff from The Sonder Project and our construction partner, buildon 🤝 The rest of the afternoon was filled with speeches, skits about the importance of education, and of course, singing, dancing and celebration! 🎉 Chiwinga is a community that The Sonder Project has an ongoing partnership with — having drilled 4 deep-water wells in the surrounding villages, and implemented our water filter program in the area also. 💧 In the words of Sara Hara, our education coordinator in Malawi: "This is a very great development.
