Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced Wednesday that Yankees right-hander Jimmy Cordero has accepted a suspension for the remainder of the season for violating the league’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.
Cordero’s placement on the restricted list begins immediately and extends through the postseason.
The 31-year-old Cordero appeared in 31 games with the Yankees this year and had a WHIP of 1.071 in 32 ⅔ innings.
