2 NEWARK NJ FIREFIGHTERS KILLED ON SHIP BOARD FIRE.

2 Firefighters were killed in the Line of Duty on a container ship fire with 5,000 cars aboard, that was docked at Port Newark, New Jersey. The fire broke out on the massive Grande Coaster Eadoirio (see ship info below) around 2130 last night (Wednesday) and continues to burn early today. They had been fighting the fire on the 11th and 12th deck of the cargo ship
“Members made an attempt to extinguish the fire but got pushed back by the intense heat. Two firefighters were lost while conducting this action of backing out of the structure,” Newark Fire Chief Rufus Jackson said in the above video. The identities of the two fallen Firefighters were not immediately known. Mutual aid came in from NJ USAR, NJ UASI, numerous other departments including the FDNY.
