Next up for her senior send-off is Valeria “Val” Gonzalez! Val is a local from Mountain View, CA who majored in Political Science with a concentration in Justice. Val began her Stanford coxing career on the men’s team and she transitioned to our squad this past year! A true Californian, Val will be remembered for her super chill attitude on land as well as her intense coxing on the water. Val coxed the IRA Varsity 4+ this past Spring and said, “One of my favorite quotes from my time on the lightweight team was our boat’s saying of “no frets.” This was always a great reminder, both in rowing and in life, to brush off things that out of my control, keeping focus on being present and enjoying the moment.” Next up for Val is a summer internship in Project Management at wikiHow and will be moving to Madrid in the Fall!
