Tammy Wynette, famously known as the “First Lady of Country Music” for her song “Stand by Your Man,” celebrates her birthday today! She would have been 83 today if she were still alive. She passed away and met the Lord on April 6, 1998, and every year on her birthday, the Tammy Wynette Legacy Center in Tremont, her hometown, holds an event in her honor. Over the course of her career in country music, Wynette achieved 20 No. 1 hits, sold 30 million records, and inspired up-and-coming artists such as Faith Hill and Miranda Lambert. It’s with great honor that we wish her a happy birthday today! If you know someone who loves Tammy Wynette, send this to them so they can celebrate her birthday with us!
