"Lekker" by Sarah Campbell I Catholic University of America I Cape Town, Summer 2019 "After watching a Casey Neistat video, I had expectations of Cape Town before even getting accepted to the IES Internship program. Assumptions about everything from the terrain to the people filled my mind as I hopped on my plane. The only difference between Neistat’s experience and mine was that I was here for a job, not for vacation. That one little detail actually made all the difference between our two experiences. I got to see South African culture up close and personal, its languages, wildlife, and terrain. I met some incredible people and had the privilege of networking across the globe. I realized that some things, although they may be exhausting, uncomfortable, and require a whole lot of bravery, you just have to experience for yourself."
