#OTD we remember and honor the life of trailblazer Shirley Chisholm. A politician, educator and author, she reshaped what was possible in American politics. Chisholm was the first Black woman elected to Congress, the first Black candidate to seek a major party’s nomination for president, and the first woman to run for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
