Twenty-year-old #Tuscaloosa, #Alabama, native CJ Jones turned the hardest moment of his life into a fight for justice for students across the state. In 2022, Jones was forced out of his high school and denied a college scholarship due to a lopsided and unjust disciplinary system. He has now helped pass #HB188, which allows Alabama students to appeal school punishments and have legal representation โ€” a right he never had. ๐Ÿ“ฒ Follow the ๐Ÿ”— in our bio for this week's #WeekendRead spotlighting Jones' experience participating in the UnitedNations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent and a panel for Youth Voices for Justice. #DueProcessRights #SPLCAL
