Twenty years ago, #HurricaneKatrina's destruction plagued New Orleans' 2006 municipal elections – we're still feeling the impact on minority representation today. 💥 Over half of all #NewOrleans polling places were destroyed. 💥 The February 2006 election was delayed nearly 3 months. 💥 Due to displacement, voter turnout was severely depressed.
