Summers are hard when you’re a working mom with zero childcare and kids who don’t like summer camps. I kept praying yesterday that today could be different. That the kids wouldn’t be on screens, that I could show up and be a good mom, and that I would have energy to do something fun with them. I’m grateful for answered prayers with weather that was in the 80s, work that was done by 1pm, and this little lake that entertained the kids this afternoon.
