There's something to be said for the feeling of "pure baseball" you get when watching 1A Hogh School ball. I was fortunate to cover the 1A and 2A State Championship in Peoria last month, and seeing how well these teams and their communities rallied around the tournament was really special to witness in person. Lots of passion on and off the field, with the Waterloo Hawks taking the title in Dozer Park. I really look forward to next year's tournament and even more madness!!!
