Skate around the Green Mountains and embrace the best parts of winter ✨
Almost every neighborhood in Vermont has a public outdoor rink waiting to be enjoyed. Skating spots are hiding everywhere, from village greens to beautiful lakes. I’ve found dozens of rinks just by exploring new areas!
☃️ I recently posted a reel with a list of all the rinks I could find. I received a bunch of messages asking for the list based on region, so here’s an updated post. Go explore!!
Most public rinks are free and even offer rentals. Check town websites and/or facebook for hours, rentals, fees, night lights, etc. Some towns host weekly skating events (like curling competitions) and fundraisers for local food banks.
⭐️ When skating on wild ice, be sure to check conditions online before adventuring. Towns usually post on FB if the ice is safe at local ponds and lakes. Don’t risk your life just to skate!
Many rinks are built and maintained by volunteers, which makes these community gems extra special....
