Farewell to the gracious and inspiring Rafael Viñoly. Viñoly was born in Uruguay and founded his architecture firm in New York in 1983. He was a classically trained pianist and gave recitals. He loved NYC and designed buildings in all five boroughs—notably the Bronx Housing Court, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum renovation, and the Rockefeller University Hospital Building spanning FDR Drive. “Rafael was always gracious when we met and I was privileged to hear him play at his home and studio. This will always be a special memory,” Suchi shares. Some of his most recognizable works include the Tokyo International Forum, the Cleveland Museum of Art expansion, the Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo, and the Laguna Garzón Bridge in Uruguay. #RafaelVinoly #Architects #architecture #bronxhousingcourt #brooklynchildrensmuseum #tokyointernationalforum #clevelandmuseumofart #carrascoairport #lagunagarzon #nyc #rafaelviñoly
