MesoAmerica FC won the 2023 USASA (United States Adult Soccer Association) Region IV Amateur Cup at Ventura College on Friday night, July 7 with a 2-0 shutout over Napa Valley 1839 FC. German Alfaro scored goals in the 5th and 40th minute to secure the victory for MesoAmerica, who previously won the 2023 Cal South Adult State Cup earlier this year. MesoAmerica now moves on to the USASA National Amateur Cup Finals round, scheduled to be held at the TBK Bank Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa from August 5-6, 2023. The four teams competing for a USASA national title are also vying for a spot in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup competition.
