People keep asking me my strategy going into the “5K” run. Other athletes will agree, events where you know you should win are always a little more nerve racking because anything less than first would be disappointing or feel like a fail. This event however, I was feeling very calm and confident. Not hard to mess up just running right? 🤪 This was my event to win and my plan was stick with the lead pack and then just dust them on the last half of the last lap. Turns out no one was running fast enough so I just picked a pace nobody could hang with and kept it there 💨 Always nice to get a W.
Training wise, we are always working things I’m bad at, so I really don’t do a whole lot of running at all. If I do any running it’s field sprints during games season. I honestly can’t remember the last time I ran this long. Side note, I’m super glad the boys ran this race with us or it would have been a boring run for me. Much more fun to chase the boys 😂
