Event 1 🏊🏻‍♀️🚣🏼‍♀️⁣ I was really excited for this event but 80 people at the call of 3-2-1 go all scrambling to get ahead on a mass start was less than enjoyable. #chaos ⁣ ⁣ I thought we would all settle in eventually but the whole 1 mile swim was a constant fight to keep a place. I must have been stuck in a pack because I was constantly getting swam over and I felt like I was swimming over and hitting other people the entire time. ⁣ ⁣ I came out of the water in 19th and knew I had to make up some serious ground on the paddle. Well bless up ya girl can kayak! #thanksmomanddad ⁣ I constantly was picking people off and with every person I passed I gained more energy and paddled harder. When we were about 50m from shore we were instruction to ditch our kayak and swim to shore. I was in a tight race with Haley and dove off the front of my boat and swam for my life.
