So one of the major changes I have made to my training recently is having a nutrition coach. I started working with MTMM only a couple weeks ago but it's been eye opening to see some of the gaps I had in my nutrition before. I've always been a healthy and clean eater, but I didn't realize the amount of good fuel my body requires on a daily basis for the amount of training I do. My first day of counting macros the only target I hit quite easily was the fats. (Shout out to my extreme love for peanut butter)! My protein and especially my carbs were way too low for my training level. Had I had been told before that I am to be eating over 3000 quality calories a day I would have cringed! However, my body composition has remained steady, I have more energy for training, and my sessions are therefore more intense, more beneficial, and often shorter and not dragged out.
Low carb diets aren't for everyone, and especially not for many high level athletes. Fuel your body properly for performance...
