Top-level football once featured players wearing visible jewelry. ⚽️💎 Law 4 already prohibited dangerous jewelry by 2002. Before the 2006 World Cup, IFAB told referees to enforce the rule strictly and remove earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets and bands, even when covered with tape.
