The world wars produced the largest military mobilizations in history. ⚔️ The Soviet Union mobilized about 34.5 million personnel during World War II, while Germany mobilized roughly 18 million, the United States 16.4 million, and China about 14 million. Those totals far exceed older benchmarks such as Napoleonic France at about 3 million and the Roman Empire at roughly 500,000. The scale came from industrial-age conscription, larger populations, and state logistics that could arm and sustain mass forces across years of war.
