This $10 million pocket watch set finally came out of hiding ⌚️
Around 25 years after Patek Philippe built the Star Caliber 2000 to mark the new millennium, a complete four piece pocket watch set is stepping out of private hands in Abu Dhabi. Only one Star Caliber 2000 has ever appeared at auction before, a single yellow gold example that reached about $3.3 million in 2012.
The set brings together four unique Star Caliber 2000 pocket watches in yellow gold, rose gold, white gold and platinum, each carrying 21 complications and a double sided dial that tracks everything from sunrise and sunset to a moving sky chart.
Estimated at more than $10 million and guided up to $20 million, it now holds the second highest auction estimate ever given to a watch, just behind the Henry Graves Supercomplication.
