Experience the sights and sounds of the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington for the capstone of the ecogeomorphology course, offered by the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences. This course has been offered for 24 years, spanning various rivers and coastlines from Alaska to Mexico. UC Davis writer, Kat Kerlin, joined a class of 11 creative writers and scientists from campus and two outstanding guides as they sea kayaked from island to island, traversing 50 miles. By the end of the week, they discovered they had a lot to learn from each other, and from the surrounding nature.
