"Super stoked to be completing my final surgery of third year as the lead surgeon. Today we will be doing a canine ovariohysterectomy as the portion of our surgery set. To prep for these surgeries, I like to watch surgery videos the night before and also practice my suture skills. The patterns I like to practice include simple interrupted, simple continuous, and intradermals. Not an ad! But my current favorite suture pad to use is the surgireal 5 layer suture pad. I personally like this a lot because it is the only suture pad I have tried so far where I could actually practice intradermals pretty accurately. Other suture pads that I have used haven't been as flexible/mobile. Meanwhile the morning of the surgery, I will watch the surgery video one more time and review anything else that I am confused about.
